About the Author

My name is Keira and I have Type 1 Diabetes. I was first diagnosed with Diabetes when I was 17, a huge life changer. During that year, I noticed that I had lost a lot of weight and was experiencing constant dehydration and urination. After having gone to my doctor I was immediately diagnosed and spent the next three days living in the hospital and learning about my new life. Transitioning has been an extremely difficult process, but has proven to get better as the days go on. Having been diagnosed has shifted my passions and view points on life. I want other people to become educated on this illness rather than believe the misconceptions that come with the title of being diabetic. That is what this blog is all about: the facts that go along with Type 1 Diabetes. I hope reading my posts make things a little clearer about Type 1 Diabetes.
